چکیده
Abstract Background Nosocomial respiratory viral infections (NRVI), transmitted from infected visitors or healthcare providers to patients, lead significant morbidity and mortality. This study describes the epidemiology of nosocomial Influenza (flu) Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) at an academic medical center 2009 2018. Methods After institutional review board (IRB) approval, data on NRVI was collected our Enterprise Data Warehouse primary chart review. A infection defined as a positive result flu RSV ≥ 72 hours after admission between April March Results There were 93/1,317 (7.1%) cases 76/617 (12.3%) detected during period (see Table 1). Flu first median 6.8 8.4 days, respectively, admission. Patients with more likely have cancer diagnosis, be stem cell transplant recipient within one year, undergone chemotherapy in past 30 days 2). Few transmissions (15%) occurred outside usual winter season (December through March, see Figure 1Distribution RVIsTable 2Underlying Medical Conditions Among Community-Acquired RVIFigure RVIs over time assessing for transmission seasonality Conclusion account 7% hospitalized 12% cases. Infection is common among patients high risk complications. Effort needs directed approaches reduce RVI. Future studies are needed assess impact interventions, such universal masking, rate infections. Disclosures Michael G. Viral Respiratory Infections: Diagnosis and Epidemiology
Background. Respiratory viral infections are common causes of human morbidity and mortality in children as well as in adults. Adenovirus, influenza virus, parainfluenza virus and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) have been recognized for many years. During recent years two main events have influenced both the diagnosis and our knowledge of respiratory virus epidemiology: (1) Five new viruses ha...

[Nosocomial respiratory viral infection].
Nosocomial viral infections have not been well studied. In this context, the aim of this work is to review epidemiological and therapeutic data published on the main viral agents that can produce nosocomial respiratory infection. The study thus aims to expand knowledge of behaviour of these agents in nosocomial infections and provide information to improve the implementation of preventive measu...

This retrospective study analyzed all inpatient clinical isolates of Acinetobacter collected at an academic medical center over 4 years. The data were obtained from an Academic tertiary referral center between January 2008...
متن کاملEpidemiology of nosocomial fungal infections.
This paper briefly reviews the current knowledge of the epidemiology and modes of transmission of nosocomial fungal infections and some of the therapeutic options for treating these diseases. In the mid-1980s, many institutions reported that fungi were common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Most, if not all, hospitals care for patients at risk for nosocomial fungal infections. The proportio...
